No- I'm not talking about Snookums and I.
I wonder how many people who know me and creep on my blog just had a minor heart attack??
haha GOTCHA.
I'm talking about Snookums brother! He and his wife had their baby this holiday weekend on Friday the 1st!
Everyone was so excited for little Olivia Leigh's arrival.
(I mean really. How PRESH is this?)
It is actually quite ironic because the night before- on Thursday Snookums got a phone call from his brother.. (he was going out to get a battery from Wal-mart because she refused to go to sleep unless the beeping battery was replaced in the smoke alarm.. haha! Tell em' girl!)
He filled him in on what was going on with the baby, and said point blank- he didn't know why- but he had a feeling that the baby was going to come tomorrow. (Friday 1st)
The baby wasn't actually due later in July- but he just had "a feeling".
Sure enough- Friday afternoon around one when Snookums and I were busy taking full advantage of his day off (lounging at the pool, and having some funday drinks) we got a text that they were on the way to the hospital!
(Snookums brother also said that he guaranteed that Snookums and I would be either pregnant or have a baby in three years... With his track record on knowing babies arrival dates- this kinda freaks me out! If you know me personally, you know that for some reason the thought of being pregnant or having kids has always given me anxiety.. like to the point of breaking out in hives when people talk about it. Really, its comical. Even the ladies I worked with would talk about it just to get me all stressed out and broke out and laugh at me... Needless to say I spent the rest of Thursday night broke out in hives! haha)
Anyway- miss Olivia joined us on Friday! I'm so sad we couldn't be there in KY to meet her in person.. but we will meet her soon enough!
(Snookums and I are not married yet, so I am not "technically" her aunt yet.. but still.. very cool to be un-officially an aunt now!)
:)
We of course missed Olivia's shower too, so we sent her a little something in the mail!
They are little mini moccassins that Snookums and I bought on our way to OK.
We both saw them and we were like- omg. That is perfect!
I want a pair for myself!
Apparently Olivia's mommy has a pair almost EXACTLY like them only in brown ;)
ADORABLE.
(sorry for the blurry iphone pics!)
I wanted the packaging/ box/ card to be cute since we wouldn't be able to give a wrapped present in person..
I am a stickler for gift-wrap and CARDS!.. I absolutely LOVE making them.
(so much in fact that I will probably hand-make or semi- hand-make our wedding invites)
So for Miss Olivia's present I wrapped the regular old white box in the cutest pillow design paper EVER, and filled the shipping box with silver tissue paper and white "easter grass" as I call it.
Then I put together the little quote online.. I swear. If you don't have photoshop on your computer the next best FREE thing is picnik!
I just saved a background as a jpeg image, opened it in picnik, and then typed in the text I want and played around with the filters and colors!
Printed it out, and layered it up with some cute paper and 3D stickers.
It was just too precious.
And I am so glad they liked it! :)
It's still so weird that his brother has had a baby.. makes you realize that you're growing up! (and getting old) and that it's starting to be that time where everyone starts getting married and having babies!
AHHH.
Bring on the hives!
:)
XOXO
