The big move!

The morning after Snookums' Airborne School graduation we all went to Huddle House on post for some breakfast :)

 We also took the moms to the PX to do a little Christmas shopping...

Momma Moo and I found the perfect Christmas present for my grandparents (her mom and dad)...

This thing is HUUUUUGE and weighs a lot. I will definitely be helping to eat it.

 After going to eat, shopping and then saying our goodbyes, Snookums and I loaded up the cars to make our final drive.
We did our usual, where we basically just drove until we were major tired, and stopped at a gas station and did some car sleeping. (It's the only way to do it when you have both cars LOADED down with stuff!)
We woke up a couple hours later, looked like pure hell, and got back on the road. But, only after we had a nutritious breakfast.

We finally made it to our hotel and we weren't even able to check in yet! We took that time to go look at some apartments. We saw one place that we really really liked, but later that night I just up and decided that I didn't want to live there (because of the crime rates) and that I wanted to rent a house somewhere else, instead of an apartment!

Skeeter loved staying in the hotel. Poor thing probably never knows what is going on. He has been carted around, and shuffled here and there. I should a post of all the places the little man has traveled!!

 The next morning, we went and met someone to see a possible house. It was the only one we looked at, and we decided it was PERFECT for us!!

 All the rooms have either hardwood or tile, which is amazingly awesome when you have an Army man trudging in dirt off his boots, and a little man named Skeeter who sheds.

 The house actually has a little screened in back patio with a doggy door! I could have sworn that Skeeter would never use such a thing, but he LOVES IT. It is so funny to watch him come in and out. It's like he is so proud of himself!

Dining Room

My least favorite part of this house is the kitchen. It isn't bad, but it isn't great. Good thing is, we now have a washer and dryer in that empty space under the cabinets, and it has a dishwasher. I will NEVER live without one again.

And my least favorite, the kitchen....

 We have three fairly small bedrooms like this one-

 The first day we actually "moved" into the house I had to do some SERIOUS cleaning. And I'm not talking about some normal scrubbing. I'm talking about bleaching and scrubbing. There are still areas that could use a serious bleaching. I really was just confused how it got that dirty. Snookums said the living room felt like someone spilled a pitcher of kool aid on the floor and then walked around on it for a few years. YEAH.
But the house is adorable. So it was totally worth it!

I cleaned the kitchen for about 6 hours that first day, and I of course had to get a lil something something to reward myself and keep going- hence the bottle in the fridge ;)

And that's all ya need. 

 HAHA I know this is bad, but I just had to show this. The picture doesn't do it justice!!!!
On the left is the "clean" side, and on the right was the "dirty/before" side.
To give you an idea, I thought the tiles in the kitchen were multi colored. They aren't.
They are white.
ick.

So our house is basically in shambles right now. I have gotten the kitchen basically finished. But I am super crazy, and feel like I need to run every dish through the dishwasher once I unpack it. (It's been in storage for awhile? Maybe that isn't crazy?)

Skeeter has been worn out by this whole process. He just wants his bed and his babies, and he is good to go! 

I totally watched The Sandlot like 6 times the other day while unpacking. haha

I put contact paper down in all the cabinets. And it made me crazy. I was trying too hard to make it perfect,
by measuring and re-measuring, and trying to get all the cuts straight on the design.

I finally just gave up on that project and got it done however it went in there.

There are still soooo many boxes left to unpack, and so much left to do. The way they packed us up is a little crazy too. Every box has an ABSURD amount of paper in it. This one box below just held our plates. For real. Someday I might share some pics of what it looks like finished. That is, if I ever get it finished. HA.

I can't even think about what all there is to do right now, because I am so excited that we get to go home for Christmas!!! I cannot wait! It makes me a little sad that we won't have our first house decorated for our first Christmas, but it is totally worth it to get to spend Christmas with our fams! 

We will be completing the holiday tour of 2011. We will basically be making Christmas stops in 5 cities. YES. FIVE. But we are so excited about it! :)

Is this normal? Is anyone else out there going this many places???
