What I'm thinking: Super Bowl 2012 Edition.

There may be some snark in this post, but it is all in fun!
You have been warned :)
Here's what I'm thinking about the Super Bowl this year.
For me, it's really the FOOD BOWL.
I only really care about what I, or someone else is making to munch on, and who is performing the half-time show. That is basically it.
I didn't even know who was playing in the Super Bowl until a day or two before.
OOPS.
This year, I made a bunch of stuff. I made some BBQ crock-pot chicken that my blog love Tiffany @ All Because Two People Fell In Love posted about the other day, and although I didn't eat it (I'm not eating meat at the moment) the hubby said it was
SUPER GOOD. So thanks for sharing the recipe boo!!
I also made my personal favorite dip EVER. Captain Rodney's Glaze dip.
My Aunt made this for Thanksgiving one year, and I COULD NOT STOP EATING IT.
I also made a HUGE bowl of guacamole.
There may have also been oreo brownies for breakfast Sunday morning.. But we won't talk about that.
SO. Halftime show.... I have to say that at first as I was watching, I wasn't quite sure what to think.
Both Snookums and I were firing off some pretty good one liners as we were watching.
(It's what we do.)
Here are my thoughts on the show...

Overall, I would say it was pretty successful. I think Madonna is kind of weird.
I didn't like that she lip synced. BUT. I will say that I could not have got up on stage and ran around in those heels and hippity hopped and skeedely dood (HAHA) all over that stage for that long without passing out.
She is 53. I am 25. I couldn't have done it.
AND- there was a lot of sh*t talking on twitter-
I would venture to say that most of those cranky peeps saying she sucked probably wouldn't make it longer than two minutes if they got up off of their couch and tried running around on stage like Madge did.

Well folks. That's all I got.
What did Y'ALL think about it?!?
Sorry for the snark. But sometimes ya just gotta let it fly.

Oh Im so glad you tried your hand out at making the BBQ Chicken, and that the hubbs liked it!!!! My dad used to make BBQ on the grill growing up all the time so I was in love when I found this recipe. Thanks for the little plug in there as well :)
We didnt watch the Super Bowl so I have no idea what went on. Hubbs isnt a football fan and normally I only watch for the commercials or half time and I didnt even do that this year. Sounds like yall had quite the time!!!

Hahahahahaha... WOW! We didn't get to watch the superbowl (time difference... it came on in the middle of the night here! Hubs woke up at like 2:30AM to catch the last quarter! Crazy pants..) so thanks for the recap! I usually watch it every year, like a true American! (haha kidding..) But I felt so left out this year :( No superbowl parties or fun foods!! I even had to youtube the halftime show and commercials... so not the same!! But I loved your recap :) It made it a little better! Almost like being at home at a real superbowl party!! bahaha!!

Ash

Those bbq sliders look yum! :) I saw Tiffany's post as well and have been wanting to try it for some time.

I really liked the half-time show! My hubs didn't. But I thought it was pretty great. I love Madonna. I'm just glad she didn't sing Like A Virgin. Haha.

I looooooved Madonna and the addition of Cee Lo and LMFAO just absolutely made it for me... especially Cee Lo on Like a Prayer. It made my heart so happy :) I barely noticed Nikki Minaj or MIA - their costumes blended in so much, and I mean, hello. Its Madonna. Every other girl is gonna fade into the background performing with her!

My hubby and I do a lot of "one liners crap talk" too haha.. It makes life so much better. Is that bad? I thought Madonna killed it! I loved it and I'm not really a fan of hers!

I totally agree with you on all the Madge stuff...I love how people are so judgmental, but wouldn't have the BALLS to get up there themselves...Why is it so hard to just be like, "Yep, that was pretty cool." I need to make that crockpot chicken. I saw a buffalo recipe like that too, so I'm thinking mix them and make Spicy-BBQ crockpot chicken!
