The Giggle Sisters Are Coming To Town...

SO- if you follow my little bloggy- you know that this past weekend we had some house guests!
Let me introduce you to our lovely little visitors..
The giggle sisters!
These two lovely ladies are mine and Snookums' moms!
For future reference: My mom is Momma Moo, and his mom, is Momma Boo. (Mother of Moo, and Mother of my Boo)
Anyway- Snookums and I are super blessed to have such awesome mommas, who get along FAMOUSLY! (Seriously, the other day we were just saying how awesome it is that all four of us, me, Snookums, Momma Boo, and Momma Moo, get along. It's great!)
The Moms decided to come down for a visit, since they had not seen our new house, new city, new post, etc.
And let me tell you- we have been SPOILED ROTTEN.
But, more to come on that in later posts ;)

Momma Boo arrived first, on Thursday, and I went to go pick her up from the airport! After we got back to our house, and she was given the "grand tour" we decided we would go explore our little town, and have some lunch somewhere cute! We ended up at this adorable little place called "Sweet Basil" because the inside and outside were just precious! It also helped that this AMAZING smell was coming out of the open doors! It smelled like fresh baked bread and homemade pesto. YUM.
We walked in and were seated at this cute little table and ordered our teas. You know it's an old-school, and awesome cafe when they bring you sugar water to flavor your teas!!
The menu there looked SO GOOD. We both decided to get "The Vegetarian".
IT WAS AMAZING. Really. I am thinking about it now, and wishing I could have it for lunch.
Side Note: Momma Boo is a vegetarian, and I just recently have stopped eating meat for the time being.
(I'm not sure if this will stick. I just had an "epiphany"the other day, and decided that meat grossed me out. So, for now, I am a "light vegetarian".)
The sandwich was open faced, with fresh baked crusty bread, with white cheddar, tomatoes, avocado, onion, and a fresh made pesto on top. They served it with these crispy little fries that were the perfect amount of salty... Seriously. I want it again right now.

After lunching at the adorable little cafe, we explored around outside, and took some pics :)
I saw an adorable DIY idea for a mirror with wine corks **which I have about a MILLION of**  inside the waiting area of the cafe. Note to self. Do this. Because it's cute!

We also went around the little shops and literally DROOLED over some of their pieces. I got ALL KINDS of DIY ideas from looking... (I will probably do a post later this week or weekend to keep track of all my ideas so I don't forget them!)
After snooping around downtown, we decided to go out "scouting" for some good local thrift shops and Goodwills in the area! Let me tell you, I SCORED. Big time.
I got the most adorable little doggy bowls for Skeeter, that match my kitchen colors. (I actually looked at these exact bowls at HomeGoods once, but at 12.00 each, I just passed)
Usually about $12. Got them for $3.00 each
I also found the coolest 80's esque original oil painting for my "closet room" for only 10.00!!
(I'm doing my favorite color blue/turquoise in the area, as well as some red and pink. It's gonna be a FUN and GIRLY room!) Disclaimer: this oil painting is MUCH cuter in person, it is major adorable.
And then, I found the MAC DADDY of all scores, which I posted a picture of the other day.
I found the COOLEST old piece of furniture that I am going to refinish for our living room!!!
Here's a couple pics of the "before"..
What do you think I should do to it?? I've gone back and forth a lot about what kind of refinishing I want to do with it.
At first I was thinking a glossy white, then I decided on a satin white with wood showing through (think very vintage, shabby sheek).
Now, after seeing it in the room, I like the wood color. SOOO I want a little more wood to show through...
So should I do the top/sides/ and frames all in white and leave the square insides wood?
Or should I just do it all white and sandpaper it and let wood show through on the edges like I mentioned above??
AHHH I can't decide so that I can get started! HELP!

More to come about our fantabulous weekend with the Mommas!!

2.) My latest Habitat for Humanity find!!!! TV console for our living room!
3.) Coolest napkins I have ever seen!!! "It's not a hangover, It's the wine flu."
4.) Beautiful flowers/cabbage downtown while shopping!
5.) The Moms and I checked out the WEIRDEST museum ever. Post to come soon on that one. It was crazy.
6.) GLITTTTERRRR
7.) Went exploring on post with the Moms and Snookums! No, that sign doesn't actually say Snookums & Moo- it is where he works every day! But, I thought that the picture was cute.. and I can't obviously show where he works.. SOOO it now says "Snookums & Moo".
8.) Cool metal art of paratroopers we saw while we were out!
9.) Lunch with Snookums and the Moms at Buffalo Wild Wings on Saturday to watch the UK game!!

GET me some GLITTER

You know what I'm sayin'?

SO. Today I am l linking up with the fantabulous Tara and Vicki
for
The Nail Files
We went to Rite Aid the other night to pick up some random things, and I saw these glitter polishes and fell in LOVE!
Yes. That is glitter in MY FAVORITE COLOR!! AHHHHHH
I started with one of my favorite neutral Essie polishes..
And then added some GLITTER on my ring finger..
This is seriously my favorite manicure.. I just like a little bling bling on my bling finger..
LOVE!

P.s. on a completely random note -
I made the BEST score of my life last night at the Habitat for Humanity Store!!
Snookums' mom is here this weekend, and we LOVE thrifting. It's kind of our thing..
So we decided to go scout out a possible T.V. console and I FOUND THE PERFECT ONE!
This piece of furniture is serious. It's fairly large, solid wood, great condition, TONS of storage, and it was only $65.00..
Yes. 65 dollars!!!
Just imagine this baby with a satin white finish..
SO EXCITED!
(there will most definitely be a before and after post soon!)

Hope everyone has a fantabulous weekend!!
As I mentioned, Snookums' mom is here right now, and my Momma Moo is currently en route!
I have a feeling there is gonna be a lot of giggling this weekend...

TAG!

I got tagged by a couple chickadees to do this game...

If you are tagged- you are supposed to:
Write 11 Random Facts about yourself
Answer the 11 questions they came up with and link back to their bloggy
Write 11 of your own questions and TAG 5 other people!

I got tagged by FOUR lovelies, so HERE GOES!~

11. RANDOM facts about MOO.

1. I have more nicknames than I can count. My favorite one is Moo. (obviously.) It's derived from my maiden name. It's pretty awesome and I will always go by MOO!
^^^^
Princess Poptart Poopykins Poopy Pants (that is FOR REALS my name in Snookums phone)
Oh, actually, my FULL name in his phone is Princess Poptart PUNKIN' Poopykins Poopy Pants, he just informed me. I missed one in there... oops!
I'm sure there are more I'm not thinking of. I for real have a ton.

2. I am absolutely 100% obsessed with my dog. He might as well be my child. I would be absolutely crippled with grief if anything ever happens to him :(
3.When I get restless I feel like I need to change something. It is usually my hair.
I've had it a MILLION different colors, but almost always long. It hasn't been cut shorter than my shoulders since maybe 5th grade?
Blonde hair don't care.
Brown. Black, Red, and everything in between.
4. I love sending mail to people! I love receiving mail from people! REAL MAIL.
I just got a package in the mail from one of my besties Sierra and it straight up MADE MY DAY.

5. I am obsessed with trash t.v. I seriously LOVE IT. I need breaks from it every once in awhile.. but I usually have my t.v. schedule mapped out during the day so I don't miss my Steve Wilkos, Dr. Phil, Maury, Jerry Springer, Cheaters, Wife Swap, ETC ETC. (And no, I don't just sit around on my ass all day eating bon bons and watching trash tv. HAHAHA I just like to have it on while I'm doing things around the house!)
6. Just about ANYTHING about the war or previous wars on T.V. or Movies right now sends me into a panic attack. I gotta work on that. HAHA So, I look at pictures like this. And LAUGH.

7. I've always had a serious love for tattoos. I think that they were super cool and such an art form. (I don't really love the whole just getting a tattoo to have a tattoo though. It should mean something to you if you're going to have it on your body for life!)

8. I do not have a tattoo. YET. I have been doodling designs since I was probably 13-14. I've had one idea for about 6 years now, and it's super strange because it works really well with where my life is right now, and I designed it years ago

9.I'm scared to death of deployment. But, at the same time, I am O.k. with it, and I know that it's just another thing I'll make it through.

10. I really enjoy doing DIY things or crafts that involve repetitive, mindless things. It's soothing and relaxing to me!

11. I'm notorious for my "Praaawwwwjects" ( I used to call all my big endeavors when I was little that.) I am constantly coming up with new craft ideas, business ideas, recipe ideas, random ideas, etc, etc. It's crazy.

Erinn at It's the Journey asked:

1. What does you most favorite picture you are in look like?
Hmmm. this is a hard one!!! I would say my header picture is one of my very favorites, along with this one :)

2. Would you rather be a fish or a bird?
BIRD! Even though I don't really like them. haha
You could fly, and go wherever you wanted!

3. Where is the best place you have ever been?
Charleston South Carolina. I seriously LOVE IT THERE.

4.If you could only watch one movie for the rest of time, what would it be?
Hmm. Maybe The Sandlot. NO. Definitely Little Rascals.
That movie just makes me HAPPY

5. What is your favorite song of the moment?
I've been listening to "Johnny and June" by Heidi Newfield.
I heard it the other day on Pandora and I've loved it ever since!

6. Are you phobic of anything?
Someone I love being in a car wreck. Seriously. It's crazy how much it freaks me out. It's a little irrational really.

7. What is your favorite gadget?
MY Iphone. For sure.

8. What is one thing you know more about then your friends or family?
I would say maybe dogs? I know a lot of weird random facts about dog breeds and stuff. HA

9. What is your favorite weird food combination?
Anything and ranch. For reals.
Also I like peanut butter on my pancakes and waffles.. not sure if that is weird?

10. Why did you start your blog?
For myself mostly. I like taking pictures, I like writing. I've always kept a journal, so this just mashes all those things together.

11. Valentines day: for it or against it and why
FOR IT! I understand that it's kind of a manufactured holiday, and a lot of people hate it because they feel like they have to buy all that tacky crap. But, I like it just because it is a day to remember the people you love, and do something nice for them!
I would so much rather someone make me a card (Which Snookums does.. and they are so hilarious/elaborate!) rather than buy me a crappy 5 dollar box of candy and teddy bear at Walgreens. HAHA

Tiffany at
These Moments

1. Whats your favorite food?
My favorite food is probably either NACHOS or PIZZA. Anything salty and cheesy is A-OK with me!

2. If you could meet one person who would it be?
Hmm. this is hard. I'm not sure? I think it would be pretty cool to go back in time and meet my momma moo when she was younger.. or my mom's mom!

3. What is your dream job?
My dream job would be anything where I was working for myself doing something creative!! :)

4. Would you rather talk or email &why ?
Honestly, depends on the day. I really like writing, so I really love texting and emailing. I just enjoy it for some reason? Sometimes I like talking on the phone. Sometimes it seems like a chore.

5. What is your middle name?
Lee!!

6. What is something you have been wanting to get off your chest?
OOOOOH. Good Question. If I would have answered this a week ago, you probably would have heard a pretty decent rant from me. This week I am doing better.
I am frustrated that Snookum's and the guys have had to work late (I'm talking about till almost 10 or later) every.single.night for the last 2 weeks. I think that is ridiculous for the guys with families and kids. They aren't getting to see their kids most likely at all. And with deployment in the near future I think its ABSURD. Someone needs better time management. That's all I'm sayin. ;)

7. Why did you start blogging??
I first started blogging for myself. Then I quit for awhile, and started back again thinking it would be an awesome way for me to remember all the little things. It's turned into a bit more than that, and now a lot of people in my day to day life know about the blog. I'm o.k. with that, but at the same time it's kind of weird, but good! :)

8. What is your must see TV show through out the week?
I'm embarrassed to admit this, but lately its been The Bachelor. I usually HATE HATE HATE the show. I used to make fun of people for watching. But, I got drawn in by the crazies this season!
We are also huge fans of Jersey Shore. PAULY D for life y'all.

9. Something you want to complete before the end of Twenty12?
I would like to be more independent, and try to start working for myself!

10. Did you have a big or small wedding?
I would say it was pretty big!! Definitely large for the amount of time we had to plan it, send out invites, etc. (2 months) We had close to 190 ppl attend the wedding. We had 7 bridesmaids, 8 groomsmen, and 2 flower girls in the wedding party. I would say it was fairly large!

11. What is your all time perfect dream?
Sitting out on my porch when I'm old and gray with my Snookums. Being weird as usual.
&
Charleston, with nothing to do but wander around with my Snookums and take photographs!
(I'm HOPING this is in the very near future!)
